Speaker Biography

Rasmus studied applied computer science and has been working at Fraunhofer IESE since 2006. In his doctorate, he developed fail-operational solutions for active security systems such as the ESP. Subsequently, he worked as a project manager and safety expert on model-based safety engineering of autonomous systems. He coordinated the development of solutions to measure the risk of planned/possible autonomous system behavior in relation to the current situation, and to initiate risk-minimizing measures at runtime. In his current position as program manager for autonomous systems, he is particularly dedicated to risk management of networked cyber-physical systems. To maximize the benefits of the individual systems and also the overall benefits of system networks, he relies on cooperative risk management based in part on artificial intelligence at runtime. Since current security standards do not support this innovative risk management, he is involved in standardization committees and participates in the development of normative requirements for autonomous, networked cyber-physical systems.
